This year, resolve to build wealth, not debt. Become and Indy Saver!
Indy Saves, a "Build Wealth, Not Debt" compaign has been providing free financial planning, mentoring and support to Hoosiers since 2002. As part of a national effort sponsored by the Consumer Federation of America, Indy Saves targets low to middle income families and individuals.
Through Indy Saves, participants are encouraged to take part in free educational workshops offered at sites around the city and to become an Indy Saver. Savers are eligible for free personal coaching as well as low and no-fee savings accounts with any of Indy Saves 10 financial insitution partners.
Program coordinator Melissa Atkinson said, "Most people think they cannot save or invest. However, this multi-faceted 'Build Wealth, Not Debt' effort has created an opportunity for people to do just that. In fact, through the Saves campaign, nearly 800 Indianapolis residents have developed a plan to save and spend with intent, resulting in a more financially secure present and future."
