Welcome...
We are approaching the busy time of year for our organization. Our Neighborhood Forum will be held on May 19, more details to come. Our Neighborhood Cleanup is confirmed for Saturday, June 19th from 9am to noon. The more volunteers we have the more we can accomplish. Please contact us if interested.
We had excellent turnout at our March 8th meeting. Gained new members and met some folks from throughout the neighborhood. Great sharing of ideas.
In November of '09, we submitted a Wish List (PDF 128k) to the mayor's office and will see which projects on the list can receive funding in the coming year(s). As everyone knows, money is tight for all local governments and the needs are many.
Our final meeting of the year was productive and we want to thank Catherine Moore, Mayor's Neighborhood Liaison, Officer Henry Castor, IMPD Neighborhood Resource Officer and Marcus Ballenger, Marion County Health Dept for attending and providing information on items that impact our city and neighborhood.
New Board Members - We have three new members of our board. Amanda Woenkhaus, Glenn Sandifer II, and Keith Hochstetler joined our board in November. All three new members have a strong commitment to the neighborhood and their positive energy will be a wonderful addition to the board.
Thank you to everyone that participated in the Neighborhood Cleanup last June. We accomplished a great deal and we truly appreciate the help from neighbors Tom Pearson, Tom Nemececk, Ivan Holder and Ivan Holder, Jr along with KMNP board members Sharon Mack, Leslie Mastin and Chris Eppards. Tammy Stevens from Keep Indianapolis Beautiful for helping us get a packer truck for the cleanup. The packer truck crew, Jerry Guest, Mark Hill and Gerald Spivey. Adie Gaines, Supervisor DPW Solid Waste. If you would like to help next June or if you have a pickup truck that you'd be willing to use, please email info@kmnp.org.
KMNP Website - A much needed and long overdue upgrade to our website is in the works. We've discussed this for a while and 2010 will be the year. We've committed to having it updated in the first quarter of 2010. The new site will be regularly updated and will provide many helpful links and information that we hope you'll find useful.
We look forward to meeting you and working with you in the year ahead!
If you can help deliver newsletters or volunteer for another neighborhod event in 2010, please email info@kmnp.org or call 251-5965.
KMNP encourages support our local businesses. We must let them know
that we appreciate them "buying in" to our area. We've witnessed
many businesses fleeing to the suburbs. The ones that stick with
us deserve our support. Let's keep our money in our neighborhood!
